SHREVEPORT, LA- Funeral services celebrating the life of Ralph Richardson, 78 will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Pinecroft Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Thomas Hill and Rev. Cecil Marr. Interment will follow in Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Rose-Neath’s Southside Chapel.

     Ralph was born August 9, 1935 in Louise, MS and passed away on August 3, 2014. He was a resident of Shreveport, a member and Deacon at Pinecroft Baptist Church. He retired as a financial officer. Ralph was honored by being selected to the All State and All District Basketball Team and 1954 State Champion Team of Springhill High School. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, but most of all he enjoyed his grandchildren.

   He was preceded in death by his parents, Birdie Gordon and Arnie R. Richardson; brothers, Burl and Philip Richardson; niece, Leann Richardson Kelsh. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Betty Hughes Richardson; son, Jackie Dean Richardson and wife, Alane; daughter, Dianne Hill and husband, Thomas; sister, Joan Carpenter and husband, Rueben; grandchildren, Sarah Johnson, Elisabeth Hill, Travis Richardson, Dylan Richardson, Tyler Richardson; great-granddaughters, Morgan Johnson and Braylee Bell; great-grandson, David Johnson; sister, Joan Carpenter and husband, Reuben; niece, Shere` Shaffer; a host of other nieces and nephews; his best life-long friend, Charlie Jackson; and a great host of family and friends.

   Pallbearers will be Steven Bell, Jeremy Johnson, Travis Richardson, Hunter Coleman, David Johnson, Claude Thornhill, Dylan Richardson, and Carlton Hughes.
