Alex W. Stockmon, Sr.

Funeral services for Alex Worth Stockmon, Sr., 70, will be held on Monday, November 23, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. service time at Rose-Neath Southside. Burial will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Road, Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating will be Reverend Tom Brown. Alex was born on February 24, 1950 to Jeff Edward Grabener and Thelma Jeanette Walkover in Shreveport, Louisiana and passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2020 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Alex was a resident of Shreveport and worked for Tac Air at the Shreveport Regional Airport. He also worked for the City of Shreveport until 1986. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, growing flowers, crafting leather for knife sheaths and gun holsters and making knives from raw materials. He loved to be outside in nature and drinking coffee and visiting with friends. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren who lovingly referred to him as \"Paw Paw.\" Alex is survived by his wife of 41 years, Kathy Rotolo Stockmon, two sons, Alex Jr. and fiancé, Amanda Clayton, and three grandchildren, Demi, Cameron and Kaylee; son, Troy and granddaughter, Skylar; one daughter, Sandy Stockmon and two grandsons, Chase Rogers of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Barre T. Simpson III; one sister, Anita Brooks and her husband, Roy; his close friend, "Cool" Wess, and many others that will miss his contagious laughter and quick wit. The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Lee and the staff at Intensive Specialty Hospital ICU. Also Dr. Kompelli at Willis-Knighton North and all the ladies at Guest House Rehabilitation Center for the excellent care and compassion given to Alex during his illness.
