Alisha was born on July 27, 1982 to Danny Cory and Sandra Burgess Cory in Shreveport, Louisiana and passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2021 in Keithville, Louisiana. Alisha was a resident of Keithville and worked as a physical therapy assistant in the medical field. While in high school and college, she enjoyed playing softball and working out. Alisha loved the Lord and was a member of Word of God and was a member of BSF and a ladies' prayer group that she enjoyed. Alisha's faith journey began 19 years ago with the diagnosis of a tumor on the brain stem. She was 20 years old, a college athlete at Northwestern State University and playing softball, the sport she loved and idolized. The life she knew and worked so hard for all came to an abrupt end. Life took her in a different direction and Jesus had a bigger plan for her. He showed her His desire and will for her life and in true Alisha fashion she took that and ran with it. She became a warrior for Jesus and demonstrated His love to everyone whom she crossed paths. She would let anyone and everyone know that her courage and strength came from Him. Her battle was fought with dignity and faith and she gave all glory to God. Alisha's life verse was Romans 4:18, "Who against hope, believed in hope..." Left to cherish Alisha's memory are her parents; brothers, Chris Cory and wife, Kristy of Stonewall, LA, Derek Cory and wife, Angela Cory of Shreveport, LA; nieces, Madison Cory, Katelyn Cory, Emily Cory, Anna Grace Cory; nephews, Cole Cory, and Luke Cory; and fur baby, Jersie Mac. Alisha always loved to boast about her nieces and nephews. They were her greatest joy particularly her lifeline, Maddie. She loved each one dearly. Honoring Alisha as pallbearers will be Ronnie Burgess, Rodney Cory, Bobby Howell, Greg Frazier, Alex "JJ" Roberts, and Wade Strother. Honorary pallbearers will be Cole Cory and Luke Cory. The family would like to express special thanks to Lifepath Hospice for their care and compassion given to Alisha during these last few months, particularly Ann, Leslie, Kim and Eileen. The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
