Alma Mattie Lopez

Funeral services for Alma Mattie Lopez, 86, will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Road in Shreveport. A visitation will be held Friday, January 1, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Southside. Officiating the service will be Ben Schmaltz. Alma was born on August 26, 1934 to J. T. Norment and Nannie Beatrice Sams Norment in Mira, Louisiana and passed away Sunday, December 27, 2020 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Alma was a resident of Shreveport and a homemaker. She was a great cook. You could always find her watching her favorite football team play, the Dallas Cowboys and she loved Nascar. Alma is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Sam Lopez; son, Perry Lopez; sisters, Lena Mae Penick, Sylvia Ward, Peggy Lindsey, and Pauline Taylor. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Tony Lopez, Don Lopez, Mike Lopez, Carlos Lopez, Paul Lopez and wife, Rhonda; daughters, Annette Lopez, Sheila Lopez Adams; and daughter-in-law, Nancy (Perry) Lopez; 13 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Honoring Alma as pallbearers will be Joe Best, Greg Wright, Brian Harper, DJ Lopez, Cain Lopez and Tommy Joe Kelly.
