A memorial service for Amos Roy \"Bud\" Mortzfeldt, Jr. will be held on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, Louisiana at 11:00 a.m. Bud will be cremated as he requested. His inurnment will take place at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 7970 Mike Clark Road, Keithville, Louisiana at 1:00 p.m. following the memorial service. Bud was born January 4, 1943, in Cumberland, MD. He passed away January 21, 2021 at Willis Knighton North Medical Center in Shreveport, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Amos and Mary Lipscomb Mortzfeldt, Sr; sisters, Mary Lucille Brockey and Linda Lou Mortzfeldt; brother, Billy Lee Mortzfeldt and his two precious babies, SueShe and Mayling. Left to cherish Bud's memory is his wife, Lois, "He was my world for 38 years;" sisters, Barbara Jean Meeks of Cumberland, MD, and Betty Jo Himes of Hooversville, PA; brother, John Eddie Mortzfeldt of Cumberland, MD; numerous nieces and nephews and his precious baby "Sunshine." Also, his friends for over 50 years, J D Miller of Keithville, LA and Louie Rockett of Shreveport, LA. Bud was a United States Navy Veteran and he retired from General Motors after 36 years. Bud was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, and he loved his church family. I want to thank Pastor Perry Culver and everyone for all your prayers during this most difficult time. Bud was a very religious person and he always made sure to tell everyone to "Go With God." So now I say to him, "Go With God," and have no more pain, and I will always love you.
