Shreveport, La – Anna Beth Beck Thomas, 59 years old, was born on September 26, 1956 in Marshall, Texas to Ellis Benson Beck Sr. and Helen Griffin Beck Orr. After moving with her family to Shreveport, Louisiana at the age of 9 years old, she called Shreveport home for the rest of her life.
Anna was a devoted and loyal member of the Holmes Auto Group of Shreveport, Louisiana all of her adult life. Her straightforward “tell it like it is” boldness was a refreshing attitude to those around her, and her love for traveling and adventures left her with some amazing stories.
Anna never met a stranger and made lifelong friends wherever she went.
Her most proud accomplishment was raising her two children, Derrick and Jessica. As a loving & encouraging mother, she always had an answer for them. Anna never missed an important event, and inspired them to be the best version of themselves.
Late in the evening Friday, November 20, 2015, Anna passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family after her courageous battle with breast cancer. Anna was preceded in death by her father Ellis Benson Beck Sr. and maternal grandparents; Oval and Mildred Griffin. Left to cherish her memory are her mom and dad; Helen and Charles Orr, son; Derrick Thomas, his wife Whitney their children Lukas Thomas and Lilly Hardy, daughter; Jessica Thomas Jester and her husband Matthew, brother; Rusty Beck and his wife Barbara, sister; Nancy Wyatt and her husband Gary, niece; Alisha Smith and family, niece; Jennifer Hawthorn and family, brother in law; Ronald Thomas, and wife Kristi, niece; Alicia Irmscher and family, niece; Meaghan Wallace and family and countless lifelong friends. Her two fur babies Ellie and Griffin will also miss her dearly.
A visitation to celebrate the life of Anna Beth Beck Thomas will be held Tuesday, November 24, 2015 from 5pm-8pm at Rose Neath Southside Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at 10:00 am at First United Methodist Church, conducted by Dr. Carl Rhodes. A reception to follow.
Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Hightower, Charlton Holmes, Jim Huggins, Greg Miciotto, Ricky Scales, Joe Young, Angie Custer, Roxanne Douglas, Ashley Gaye, Lynn Haggard, Barbara Sheffield, and Sue Thomas.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for those that helped Anna through her toughest time. The family has been humbled and in awe of the support Anna received. Your kindness and generosity did not go unnoticed and will never be forgotten. The prayers have been a comfort to the family during the many years of her battle, and will continue to be a source of comfort for the days ahead.
