Arlene Loos

Arlene Fletcher (Oglesby) Loos was born February 20, 1945 in Shreveport, LA to Henry Fletcher and Ruth Oglesby. She went to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, June 13, 2015 in Shreveport, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Shona Thomas, and her husband and the love of her life, Wayne Loos. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Pam Shankle and husband, David and Kerri Sweatman and husband Ken, her brother, Ross Oglesby, her grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Arlene was proud to have been able to be a homemaker for most of her life and took pride in caring for her family. However, her greatest joy was being "Granny" to Brittany and Brandon Shankle and Madeline and Kace Sweatman. When her daughters were older, she worked for several years at Dillard's in the credit department and in sales audit. She was a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Shreveport, where she was very involved in the Adult 2 Sunday school class. She also enjoyed spending time with the ladies in the Family of Sister's ministry. Arlene will be remembered for her loving kindness and her special weekly phone calls to her Adult 2 class members as the Outreach Leader. In celebration of her life, visitation with the family will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Rose Neath's Southside Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm, immediately following the visitation, in the Rose Neath Chapel. Officiating will be Pastor Steve Gilley. Interment will follow at Northwest Louisiana Veteran's Cemetery in Keithville, LA. A special thanks to our Pallbearers: Cody Brumfield, Earnie Fegley, Jerry Fielder, Terry Huffman, Harold Porter, and Jerry Stogner. The family would like to thank the staff of Garden Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their loving kindness and compassionate care.
