Funeral services for Arneta Porter Davis, 76, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 4, 2019 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel with Brother Wayne Clegg officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Rose-Neath Southside from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, August 3, 2019 and 1:00 p.m. until service time Sunday.
Arneta was born June 22, 1943 in Houston, MS and went to be with the Lord on August 1, 2019 after a long, courageous battle with Huntington's Disease. She was a devoted Christian and member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She was a loving, caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister.
Arneta was preceded in death by her husband, John Earl Davis; parents, Elkin and Mable Porter; and sister, Dorothy Dean Walls. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Debbie Crisp (Chris), John Glenn Davis, and Kevin Davis (Debbie); grandchildren, Rebekkah, Jedidiah, and Hannah Crisp, Matthew Dylan, Brice, and Faythe Davis, and Dylan, Zachary, and Joshua Davis; great-grandchild, Harper Crisp; brother-in-law, Earnest Wayne Walls; brothers, Larry Porter (Kathleen), George Porter (Sandra), Glen Porter (Mary), Rodney Porter, and Giles Porter (Becky); sisters, Carol Terry and Diane Rappe (Jimmy); and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Pallbearers will be Jedidiah Crisp, Dylan Davis, Zachary Davis, Joshua Davis, Brandon Porter, and Layton Porter. Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Dylan Davis and Brice Davis.
