Barbara Moon

Arcadia - Funeral services will be held for Barbara Nolan Moon, age 81, at 3:00 p.m., on Sunday, June 19, 2016 at Salem United Methodist Church of Dubach. Rev. Danny Baskin will officiate. Interment will follow at Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home of Arcadia. Barbara was born December 17, 1934 to Eugene and Gladys Harris Nolan. She entered peacefully into rest on June 16, 2016 at her home in Arcadia. Barbara was a devoted wife for 60 years. She was a loving mother of 4 children, 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church for over 60 years. She loved her Lord, her family, her church, its members and her pastor. She was well known for her cooking, especially chicken and dressing and banana cake. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, husband Neil Moon, brothers David Nolan and Tommy Nolan and by son-in-law Gene Taylor, Jr. She is survived by her children Peggy Taylor of Bryceland, LA, Lee Ann Fields and husband David of Arcadia, LA, Gene Moon of Tyler, TX and Cathy Franklin and husband Mike of Dubach; grandchildren Lindsey Taylor Montgomery and husband Grant, Gene Taylor III and wife Natalie, Justin Fields, John Fields and wife Sarah, Jade Moon Van Meter and husband Chris, Hutton Moon and wife Hannah and Jennifer Franklin Barmore and husband Wes; great-grandchildren Sloane Montgomery, Reese and Rex Taylor, Nixon and Cohen Van Meter, Eisley Moon and Austin and Jaxson Barmore; sister-in-law Evelyn Nolan and special cousin Darlene Pendergrass and by numerous other nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Special thanks to the staff of Premiere Hospice, Stephanie, Shannon, David and Muffin for their loving care of our mom.
