Beatrice Joyner

Beatrice Joyner was a Godly woman. Everyone who knew her thought of her as a saint and guardian angel. She was an optimistic happy woman who was close to God and enjoyed her church life at Christ the King Church. As a member of the Immaculate Conception she loved to help bake Italian cookies. She was an extremely generous person and an excellent cook! Anyone who entered her home never left hungry, there was always a pot of peas, corn on the cob, or greens on the stove. She had a deep love for animals and not only fed people but any stray animal that entered her yard. She loved family and friends and never met a stranger. In her 95 years, she had farmed more than 50 of those years in her backyard and was affectionately known as the \"Green Lady\". She touched the hearts of all who knew her! She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Calvin Joyner Jr., her parents Charles and Grace Fazio, two sisters Connie Johnson and Mary Ann Evans, and son Michael R. Joyner and a great-granddaughter Savannah Gentry. Beatrice is survived by her son Calvin Joyner and wife Marie, daughter-in-law Pat Joyner, daughter Linda Blokland and husband Rick, one sister Charlene Kennedy and husband Buddy and brother David Fazio and wife Lavern, 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Feb. 7th from 4-6pm with a vigil service following at 6pm at Rose-Neath Funeral Home on Airline Drive. A Funeral Mass in memory of Beatrice Joyner will be held on Friday, Feb. 8th at 10am at Christ the King Catholic Church on McCormick St. in Bossier City with Rev. Mark Watson officiating.
