A funeral service celebrating the life of Bennie Sue Harrison will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 17, 2020 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Drive, Bossier City. Visitation services will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Chapel on Saturday, May 16, 2020. Brother Robert Beadle will be officiating with the assistance of Brother Mark Wark.
Bennie Sue was born on November 25, 1937 in Flippin, Arkansas to Benjamin Franklin Kingston and Marie Yvonne Dennis Kingston and passed away Thursday, May 14, 2020 in Benton, Louisiana. After graduating high school, Bennie Sue married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, J.I. Harrison. Together the couple enjoyed 64 wonderful years of marriage. Bennie Sue "Memaw" Harrison always had a smile on her face. She knew no strangers, and would not hesitate to invite them in. She lived by the motto "Faith, Family, and Friends" and showed that through her open arms and big smiles. She loved her family greatly and they considered her their angel on earth. Bennie Sue would cook large, delicious meals that could serve upwards of 50 people on holidays and always had to bake her Dewberry cobbler to serve with ice cream. Bennie Sue loved taking care of her pink roses that she grew all around the house, which will serve as a reminder of her beautiful life. Her family, especially the grand-children and great-grandchildren, will miss her warm hugs and beautiful smile.
Bennie Sue was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Dean Kizer Kingston; mother-in-law, Rebecca Otie Harrison; and brother, Duane Kingston. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, J.I.; daughter, Suzan Lynette Ballistrella; sons, Derry Harrison and wife Sheila, Darren Harrison and wife Cindy, Jim Harrison and wife Rose, and Jeff Harrison; sisters, Diana Campbell Wilson, Bobby Dean Cranford, and Georgia Dean Burns; brother, Tommy Kizer; and 9 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren that she so lovingly adored.
Honoring Bennie Sue "Memaw" Harrison as pallbearers are Blake Dawson, Brad Harrison, Jake Harrison, Adam Martin, David Martin, and Richard Jones. Her dear nephew, Dale Swain, will serve as honorary pallbearer.
