Mrs. Beverly Sue Mauritzen Sandifer, 83, passed away peacefully January 27, 2019. She was born in Minden, Louisiana, to James Turner Mauritzen and Alva Lucille Stephens on April 3, 1935. Beverly graduated from Fair Park High School in Shreveport in 1953. She and Glenn Eugene Sandifer were married shortly after graduation on June 15, 1954. She and Glenn were members of First Baptist Church Blanchard for more than 57 years where she served her Church and her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in many roles including Church Secretary and pianist. She loved her church and was dearly loved by many members and church leaders over the more than half century that she served the membership.
A celebration of her life will be held at First Baptist Church Blanchard on Thursday, January 31, at 1:00 PM. Officiating will be Dr. Doug Allen. Interment will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation for friends and family will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at First Baptist Church Blanchard.
She is survived by her children Kevin Wayne Sandifer of Blanchard; Karla Hatcher and spouse Rick of Porter, Texas; Kristi Gardner and spouse Alan of Grifo Alto, Costa Rica; and Kimberly Cannon and spouse Steve of Georgetown, Texas; brothers- and sisters-in-law Johnny Sandifer and spouse Virgie of Waskom, Texas; Johnny Forrest of Waskom, Texas, Harrell Sandifer and spouse Joann of Memphis, Tennessee, Wanda Kay McVicar of Lavonia, Michigan; and six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Glenn and her parents.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Nikolaus Gardner, Chase Pantuso, Jonathan Heil and longtime friends Terral Whetstone, Sonny Snell and Stephen Davidson. Honorary pallbearers are grandson Brent Hatcher, John "Bo" Bettis, Dave Maness and Leonard Bruce.
