Funeral services for Bob F. Wilson, 81, will be held at 12:00 PM, Friday, September 12, 2014, in the sanctuary of Summer Grove Baptist Church, with Dr. Murry Hodge officiating. Interment will immediately follow on the grounds of Forest Park West, Shreveport, LA. The family would like to welcome guests for visitation Thursday, September 11, 2014, during the hours of 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Rose-Neath Southside Chapel.
   Mr. Wilson was a member of Summer Grove Baptist Church in Shreveport. He retired from Morton Salt Company in 1998 after 35 years of service, having received the prestigious Solarium Award for exemplary performance in 1982. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, an adult leader with the Boy Scouts of America Troop 99, and an award-winning Championship Cook. Bob received the honorary title of Colonel, Louisiana State Militia, from Governor John J. McKeithen in 1971.
   Bob was preceded in death by his parents, John B. and Elva Haire Wilson; his beloved wife of 54 years, Peggy West Wilson; three siblings, Louise Ashby, Arthur Wilson and Yvonne Prudhomme. Left to cherish Bob’s memories will be his three children, Wendy Goodwin and husband Robert, Cindee Carson and husband Kit, James D. Wilson and wife Sylvia; one sister, Jo Ann Guillott and husband Polen; one brother, John B. Wilson Jr. and wife Carolyn; four grandchildren, Keri, Alicia, Michelle and Colton; four great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson, along with numerous extended family members and countless numbers of wonderful friends.
   The family would like to give a special thanks to Margaret B. Moore for the loving care she provided Bob during his time of need.
