Bob Stewart

Arcadia - Bobby Wade Stewart of Arcadia, LA entered his heavenly home on September 23, 2018 after lengthy illness. He was born in Arcadia on July 12, 1939 and was a resident there for most of his life. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army with most of that time spent at the Trois Fontaines Ordnance Depot, France. He retired from Exxon Mobil and the Bienville Parish Sheriff's Department. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Rupert and Gladys Stewart, brother, Larry Thomas Stewart, and sisters, Dora Virginia "Binky" Stewart Sims and Gloria Jean Stewart Long. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Linda Coplen Stewart, his daughter, Pamela Stewart Cutlip and husband, Brad, of Arcadia, LA and son, Bobby Wade Stewart, Jr. and wife, Kimberly Wilson Stewart, also of Arcadia. He is also survived by a sister, Shelia Stewart Delony and husband, Steve of Byhalia, MS, and a brother, Travis Rupert Stewart, and wife Paula of Arcadia. Bob and Linda are the proud grandparents of four grandchildren, Matthew Stuart Cutlip and wife, Chelsea, of Arcadia, Laura Stewart Hamilton and husband, Shawn, of Arcadia, Anna Stewart Couvillion and husband, Justin, of Woodworth, LA and Jacob Wade Cutlip of Arcadia. They were also blessed with five great grandchildren, Adilynn Grace Couvillion, Brinley Nicole Cutlip, Walker Stuart Cutlip, Jackson Wade Couvillion, and Jacob Wade Cutlip, Jr. Bob was a Godly man who loved the Lord and was serious about his walk with Jesus Christ. He was a strong family leader and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Visitation will be at First Baptist Church, Arcadia, at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 with funeral service following immediately at the church at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Jeff Hoffman, pastor of First Baptist Church and Rev. Steve Delony, Bob's brother-in-law, will officiate. Interment will be at Arcadia Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bobby Barlow, Carlton Cobb, Justin Couvillion, Jacob Cutlip, Matthew Cutlip, Shawn Hamilton, Don Skains and Don Travis. A special thanks goes to his caregivers, Michelle Pelton, Amber Fitzgerald, and Melinda Perot. They were a God-given and valuable part of Bob's care team and tenderly and efficiently helped to take care of him during the last years of his illness.
