Brian Richard Woodard

Hot springs, AR - Brian Richard "Woody" Woodard, 45, of Hot Springs, AR was born June 4, 1970 in Shreveport, LA to Bro. Roy and Brenda Woodard. He joined his dad in Heaven on March 23, 2016 in Shreveport LA.

Brian accomplished many things in his wonderful life. As a young boy he was involved in everything from Golden Gloves, Power-lifting, and football. In 1993, he was part of a National Championship football team, The Shreveport Stars. The son of a preacher, ministry was his life. He was licensed to preach the gospel and served in several ministry positions. From 1994 to 2002, Woody was the tenor for the Southern Gospel Trio Adoration. Adoration sang over 1500 times during its full time run and Woody's heavenly high tenor tones brought many to salvation in Jesus all over this country. Most recently, Woody was the worship leader for Mt. Olive Community Church of Hot Springs, AR. In spite of a recent kidney transplant, Woody would be in service every week leading us to God's throne. Most recently he lost a toe to his battle with diabetes; however, the next Sunday he was propped up leading us in worship. Woody has touched God's people from all walks of life. For the past several years, Woody was very involved in Karaoke World Championships. Woody has won many contests, and was recently named the chairman of the Karaoke World Championships for Louisiana. Woody will be sorely missed by many, but our consolation and comfort comes in knowing he is smiling in the presence of Jesus. Lisa, Hannah, Christin, and Jacob have always been a part of Woody's ministry. Please share your loving stories of your times with Woody.

Woody is preceded in death by his dad, Lee Roy Woodard, his brother, Craig Randal Woodard, his grandfather, James Randal Heflin, paternal grandfather, Willie Woodard and grandmother, Gladys Medlin Jones.
