Bruce Muehleman

Bruce Alfred Muehleman age 74, passed away from complications related to surgery on December 26th, 2019. Born in 1945 to Lillian and Fred Muehleman in Long Island, NY, Bruce was the only yankee cajun cook in Northwest Louisiana. He spent nearly 50 years in professional kitchens perfecting his gumbo but he believed his true calling was standup comedy. However, no one else agreed with him so he stuck with cooking. Known to his children as "The Father of the Fried Turkey", Bruce loved teaching his 3 sons the art of disposing of old broken down cars, his daughter the secret ingredient to his gumbo, and to his wife Vicky what true love really was. Bruce was preceded in death by his son Andy and his brother Richard. He is survived by his wife Vicky, his daughter Amy, his sons TJ, Chris, and Tim, nephews Bryan and Kevin and niece Emily, a really nice new tractor he just bought in Arkansas, and a whole lot of grandchildren who will one day grow tired of hearing countless escapades of their grandpa Bruce. A gathering of friends and family will be held from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 29, 2019, at the Rose-Neath Southside Chapel, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, LA. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Pet Savers (petsaversshreveport.org) or to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org) in Bruce Muehleman's name.
