Carl Crenshaw, Jr. passed away on February 4, 2021 at 89 years of age. He was a Baptist Minister and pastored and served as Director of Music in various churches in the NW Louisiana area where he served faithfully. His greatest joy was being on the Camp Committee that led the committee to locate Camp Bethany to its present location in Bethany, Louisiana. He attended East Texas Baptist College in Marshall, Texas and was ordained at Bethany Baptist Church. He married Betty Cobb in 1950, and they enjoyed their family together for 70 years. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Annie and Carl C. Crenshaw, Sr., two sisters, Lillian Jackson and Geneva Shergalis.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; two daughters, Carla Jessee and husband, Kenneth from Shreveport, Louisiana, Lisa Richmond from Bethany, Louisiana; one son, Bill Crenshaw and wife, Linda from Denham Springs, Louisiana as well as nine grandchildren, Jeff Ansley and wife, Rachel, Jon Ansley and wife, Britni, Joshua Richmond and wife, Haley, Jarred Jessee, Ethan Jessee and wife, Trinity, Chelsea Juneau and husband, Casey, Tyler Crenshaw, Connor Crenshaw, Kimberly Crenshaw, 11 great-grandchildren, nieces, Sharon Berthelot, Cynthia Goodwin, Pamela Marange, and Debbie Sevier.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethany Baptist Church, 10043 US Hwy. 79, Bethany, Louisiana with Brother Robert Cole and Brother Marvin Cooper officiating.
