Carolyn Britt

Carolyn Britt, 77, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, April 2, 2021. Carolyn was born on January 3, 1944, in Pelican, Louisiana, to Charlie and Etha Bumbard. She was lovingly raised by Galie and Rose Barnett. Carolyn graduated from Logansport High School and continued on to Guy's Cosmetology School. Carolyn married the love her life, Glenn Merl Britt, on July 20, 1981. They were married for 29 wonderful years. Carolyn worked as a hairdresser for about 20 years before retiring and started a career in in-home care. For 20 years, she was a private sitter and a bright light to her patients, often until their last days on this earth. Carolyn was always taking care of those who needed her. She always had a smile on her face, and she never met a stranger! To know her was to love her! Carolyn's life revolved around family. We can only imagine her joy of leaving this earth to be with the Lord and her husband, Glenn. Her only daughter, Carolyn Glyndale, was her greatest blessing! She waited her whole life for her after believing she could not have children of her own. She was her entire world, her sunshine, her reason for breathing! Carolyn's grandchildren, Isabella, Brittney, Teal, and Landon were the lights of her life that she absolutely adored. She loved them more than life itself and was certain to show them every day! Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Carolyn Glyndale and husband, Blake Rushing; grandchildren, Brittney Le'Ann and Isabella Rose McCullough, and Avery Teal and Landon Slade Rushing; sister, Delphia Neighbors; nephew, Randy Neighbors with his children and grandchildren; niece, Brenda and husband, Marshall Howard with their children and grandchildren; sister-in-law, Darlene and husband, Ricky Womack with their children and grandchildren; and many cousins and friends. Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Britt; parents, Etha and Charlie Bumbard; Galie and Rose Barnett; twin sister, Catherine; Allen and Beatrice Britt; and brother-in-law, Allen Jay Britt. A memorial gathering will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 12, 2021, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, located at 1815 Marshall St., Shreveport, LA 71101.
