SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral services celebrating the life of Carolyn Maines Weir, 76, will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Woodridge Baptist Church. Officiating will be her pastor, Dr. Chuck McInturf of Woodridge Baptist Church, assisted by Brother Sam Procell. Interment will follow at 4:00 p.m. in Ebenezer Cemetery, Florien, LA. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday, August 18, 2014 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel, 2500 Southside Drive. Carolyn went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 16, 2014 after a six year, valiant battle with cancer, joining her parents, Mark and Estelle Maines, her first born son, Norman Wayne and her brother, Huey. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Wayne Weir; sons, Paul and Kevin Weir; sister, Marie LaBorde; brothers, Kenneth (Bonnie) and Trenice (Hazel). Carolyn was blessed with eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Carolyn was born on November 15, 1937 in Florien, LA. She retired from Southern Plastics after 24 years of service. She was an active member of Woodridge Baptist Church and loved the Lord and her church family with all her heart. She was an inspiration to all of us with her assurance of God's grace even during the difficult years of her battle with cancer. Pallbearers will be grandsons Michael, Marc, Matt, Jarred, and Tony Weir and nephew, Jason Weir. Honorary pallbearers are members of Early Risers Sunday School Class of Woodridge Baptist Church. Carolyn and the family wanted to express their sincere thanks to Grace Home, Dr. Grimes, Dr. Borne, Dr. Chintapalli, Dr. Chen and to all the wonderful friends and family for their love and support.
