Memorial services for Chuck Gowan, 75, of Greenwood, Louisiana, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Southside. Brother Tommy Allen will be officiating. Friends and family may visit from 1:00 p.m. until service time Saturday, January 2nd in the funeral home chapel. Chuck was the son of Charles E. and Mamie Stroud Gowan, Sr. He was born July 10, 1945 in Shreveport, Louisiana and passed away December 25, 2020 at his residence in Greenwood, Louisiana. He proudly served in the US Navy Seabees from 1968-1972. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He loved his country and was proud to serve. Afterwards, he drove big rigs across the country and then started his own business as a custom home builder in Shreveport. He was an owner/operator in Longview, Texas, driving his own dump truck. He loved hunting, fishing and anything outdoors. He loved to collect guns and knives. He loved nature, and he loved God. He was preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 16 years, Brenda Gowan; children, Brian H. Gowan and wife, Sherry, Kris Gowan Ypya and husband, Kevin, Vickie Caskey and husband, Wayne; step-children, Jerry Don Loe, Richard Lynn Loe, John David Loe and wife, Brittney; sister, Kay Garrison; brother, Tommy Gowan and wife, Sharon; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
