HOMER, LA: Funeral services were held for Mr. Charles “Chuck” Williams, age 81, at Rocky Springs Baptist Church in Lisbon, LA, on Tuesday, November 26, 2019, at 10:00 a.m., with Bro. Rusty Gilbert, officiating.  Interment followed at Rocky Springs Cemetery.  The family received friends at the church on Monday, from 5-7 p.m.

 Chuck was born on January 5, 1938, in Homer, LA, to Lora Stewart and Jurel Williams. He entered into rest on Friday, November 22, 2019, in Minden, LA, following a sudden illness. Chuck served his country for six years in the United States Air Force. He was best known for Chuck’s Dairy Maid in Homer, his gardening, and his love of flowers. Chuck was at every event his three grandkid’s pursued, cheering them on. His favorite activity was spending time with his family making memories. Chuck never met a stranger and would talk to anyone.

 Chuck was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Nancy Williams Howell.

 He is survived by his loving wife of  45 years, Betty Haynes Williams; a son, Jason Williams and wife Jenni of Lisbon, LA; three grandchildren, Madelyn Williams, Kaden Williams, and Parker Williams; a sister, Odessa Williams Roberts of Homer, LA; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 A special “Thank you,” from our family to Brandi Ware Hutchinson of National Home Health, Dr. Scott Phillips, and Dr. Kirton Kotichia for the care and compassion shown to Chuck.

 Pallbearers were Dale Roberts, Andy Roberts, David Howell, Jeff Staats, Greg Matherly, and Malcolm Cooper.

 Honorary pallbearers were Mike Roberts and Allen Killgore.

 In lieu of flowers honoring Chuck, his family suggests memorials be made to Rocky Springs Cemetery Fund.
