Charles was born March 15, 1933 to Ivan and Berta Caskey in Arcadia, LA. He grew up in Arcadia and attended Louisiana Tech University until he joined the military. He served his country as a member of the United States Navy aboard the USS Wasp and USS Lexington where he played trombone as a member of the Admiral’s Band. The impact he had on his student’s lives was apparent as he received many calls over the years from his former students expressing their appreciation for his presence in their lives. After retiring as an educator, Charles stayed busy by delivering for the Shreveport Times in Haughton’s Dogwood Subdivision and managing Cories Self Storage facility until he finally decided to retire in 2016. Charles enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and entertaining his children, grandchildren, and their families at his home on Lake Bistineau.
