Charlie met Barbara O'Neill in 1956 in Hollywood, FL and they married in 1957. They moved their young family from Florida to the Shreveport /Bossier area in 1964 to run Empire Electronics. He subsequently struck out on his own to form several other successful businesses including Actron Electronics where he manufactured cathode ray picture tubes for global distribution. He sold Actron to Video Display Corporation in 1986, where Charlie continued to work as General Manager until his retirement in 2014. His business was his life and he instilled in his children a work ethic that was unsurpassed. Also unsurpassed, his strong will and desire to be independent until the very end.
