Christopher Shane McGowan

Bossier City, LA - A Funeral Mass for Christopher Shane McGowan, 59, will be conducted on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ The King Catholic Church, with Father Karl Daigle officiating. Visitation at the Church from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. will precede the service. Burial will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. Chris, a 1976 graduate of Haughton High School, died on October 11, 2016 after a long struggle with heart disease. A native and lifelong resident of Bossier Parish, he was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and a former member of the Bossier Knights of Columbus. Chris loved his church and was a good and faithful member. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeanne, brothers, Matthew and Steven, and step-brothers, Joe, Pat, and Bobby Brennan. Chris is survived by his father, Lawrence, brothers, Larry and John, his Aunt Judy and Uncle Ed, and a host of other family members and friends. He is also survived by his former sister-in-law, Linda Jones and husband, Doug, who cared for him through the end. Special thanks to his faithful friends Joe Maggio, Michael Blandino and the Hadden Family for their unwavering support throughout the years. Thanks is also extended to the staff at Heritage Manor Bossier for providing a safe haven. Memorials may be made to Christ the King Catholic Church in Bossier City, LA.
