Funeral services will be held for Columbus Clayton Pickett, Sr., age 79, at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, February 5, 2015, at First Baptist Church in Arcadia. Bro. Jeff Hoffman will officiate. The interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Arcadia. Mr. Pickett was born July 11, 1935, in Coushatta to Reverend LC and Beatrice Pickett. He entered into rest on Monday, February 2, 2015. Clay served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and worked as a salesman for Xerox. Clay was a longtime member and deacon of First Baptist Church in Arcadia. God blessed Clay with a beautiful voice and there was nothing he enjoyed more than sharing his gift with others. Spreading God's word with his quartet was always a special time for him. Clay is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Jane Spuriel Pickett of Arcadia, sons; Chip Pickett and wife Paige of Simsboro, David Pickett and wife Ginger of Arcadia and Don Pickett of Arcadia, brother Kenneth Pickett and wife Shari of Arcadia, grandchildren; Hunter, Kelsey, Dylan and Zack, by nieces and nephews, God children Alfred and Rosemary Gunasekaran and their children Ben, Johnathan and David. Pallbearers will be Hunter Pickett, Dylan Pickett, Zack Pickett, Guy Boyett, Timmy Elliott and Richie Burke. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Choir Fund, 2249 Hazel St, Arcadia LA 71001 or to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
