Darryl Dwayne DeLancy, 57, born October 27, 1961, entered into eternal rest on March 21, 2019. He was the third son of Edwin E. DeLancy and Geraldine Godwin DeLancy.

Darryl was a native of Shreveport and graduated from Huntington High School in 1979. He attended Louisiana Tech University for a time but soon decided to return home to work in the family business, Lakeshore Heating and Air Conditioning. He was a managing partner of the business and was at work the day before his sudden death.

Darryl was a master of dry wit and was a lover of the outdoors. He spent countless hours in the woods and on the lake with his dad and three brothers. They all shared a deep bond that is rarely seen in families. He was an avid reader and could recall everything he had ever read. He will be missed by all who knew him and leaves a deep void in the lives of many.

Darryl was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph and Ada DeLancy, and Gerald and Grace Munn Godwin. Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Ed and Geraldine DeLancy; brothers, Mike DeLancy and wife Christy, Russell DeLancy and wife Lisa, and Chris DeLancy and wife Andrea; nephews, Garrett DeLancy, Ryan Edison and wife Mona, Calvin DeLancy, and Christopher McKinnon; nieces, Jamie Stuckey and husband Troy, Jennie McRae and husband Colin, and Meg Southward and husband Ben; and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, great nephews and nieces.

Memorial services will be held on April 2, 2019 beginning with a family visitation at 10:30 a.m. and the service following at 11:00 a.m. at GracePointe Church of the Nazarene, 6525 Pines Rd., Shreveport, LA 71129, officiated by Pastor David Craig.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at GracePointe Church of the Nazarene.
