David John Saphier was born on July 7, 1957 in Bristol, England to Ernest Arnost Saphier and Herta Braunova and passed away Saturday, May 2, 2020 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
David received his bachelor's degree at the University of Wales and continued his education at the University of Cambridge, earning his PhD. He worked at Cambridge University, Hadassah University and Israel and Department of Pharmacology before moving to the United States of America. Once in the states, he worked at Louisiana State University Hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana.
He had a love for photography, but above all he was a passionate dog owner and breeder of Shi Tzus.
David is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his brother, Peter Saphier and sister, Helen Ross, both of Israel and his cousin, Mark Wagner, of Israel.
A private graveside was held on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at Greenwood Cemetery in Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service was Rabbi Jana De Benedetti. A Memorial Service was held Tuesday, May 5, 2020 and can be viewed on YouTube here:
