Shreveport, LA - Funeral services for Debie Buhisan Walpole, 62, will be held at 6:00 P.M., Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Funeral service will be Saturday, February 15, 2020 at the funeral home. Debie was born November 5, 1957 in Lazi, Siquijor Philippines. She passed away Monday, February 10, 2020 in Shreveport, LA. Debie was preceded in death by her parents, Leodegario and Nicolasa Buhisan, and her brothers, Albert Buhisan and Leodegario Buhisan; Sister in law, Vencia Buhisan. Debie was born and raised in the Philippines. She and her family immigrated to the United States after having been evacuated from Olongapo Philippines due to the devastation caused by the Mount Pinatubo eruption. She battled Breast Cancer for 24 years but did not allow that to dictate her life. Her strength was one of a kind. She stayed true to her roots and was an active member and co-founder of the Filipino- American Association of the Ark-La- Tex. Her hobbies included singing, dancing, gardening, and bowling. Her two biggest passions were her family, especially her three grandkids, and her love of helping others unconditionally. She will be missed greatly by all who knew her. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter; Kari Ann Bellamy and husband, Shakir Bellamy; son; Kristopher Walpole; Grandchildren, Xavier Luca Bellamy, Xander Kai Bellamy and Xane Gabriel Bellamy; Manuel Perez; Brothers, Teodoro Buhisan and wife, Emerlinia, Charlie Buhisan and his wife. Henry Buhisan and his wife Virginia, and sister Panie Buhisan; Nieces, Desiree Page, Rena Lee Buhisan, Maricel Buhisan, Doreen Buhisan, Mary Grace Buhisan-Batutay, Kristelle Ann Buhisan-Abapo, Melissalee Claire Buhisan, Anne Buhisan, and May Buhisan; Nephews, Jeffrey Earl Buhisan, Sanny Fritz Buhisan, Albert Buhisan Jr, Tata Buhisan, Bodik Buhisan, Harvey Avelino, Renz Avelino, and Jun Avelino; Cousin, Haydinia Avelino. as well as her extended family and friends.
