A Mass of Christian Burial for Delores Alene Gentry will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Officiating will be Father Joseph Ampatt. Interment will follow at Rose-Neath Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday August 13, 2018 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City. A Rosary will begin at 7 p.m.
Delores was born April 23, 1934 in Ness, KS to Adolph and Josephine Basgall and died August 9, 2018 in Shreveport, LA. She was a member of Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Ladies Guild and the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. She also enjoyed the Senior Olympics.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. Gentry; parents; son, Robert Culley Gentry; sister, Joyce Shaffer and brother, Dennis Basgall.
Delores is survived by her daughters, Patricia Lee Vail and husband, Steve, Debra Kay Jones and husband, Jeffrey, all of Bossier City; sisters, Norma Steffens of Imperial, CA and Donna Wright of Scott City, KS; grandchildren, Danielle Blalock and husband, Craig, Brittnie Berry and husband, Phillip, Geoffrey Davis, Taylor Akers and husband, Kyle and Dillon Vail and great grandchildren, Payton Blalock, Hayden Blalock, Emily Blalock, Marley Davis, Sidney Berry and Zachary Berry.
Honoring Delores as pallbearers will be nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mildred and Virginia, her caretakers at Live Oak and to WK Hospice, especially, Tangela.
