Funeral services for Delores Jean Carr, 74, will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, 1198 Morgan Quick Rd., Chestnut, Louisiana. A reception will immediately follow at Pilgrim Home Baptist Church directly across from the cemetery. A visitation will be held Wednesday, October 14, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Officiating the service will be Reverend Tom Brown. Delores was born on June 12, 1946 to Hillary Nichols and Hilda Mary Marcelle Tyler in Chestnut, Louisiana and passed away Monday, October 12, 2020 in Frierson, Louisiana. Delores was a resident of Frierson, Louisiana and worked as a nurse for over 20 years. After her retirement she would sit with patients. She truly enjoyed caring for her patients. Over the years, she was known for her love for her dogs and fishing at Toledo Bend. Delores is preceded in death by her parents and nieces, Rebecca Wall and Heather Wall. She is survived by her son, John Alan Wooley; sister, Jeanette Avila and husband, Jose; brothers, Johnny Myers and wife, Judy and Paul Pons and wife, Brenda and three grandchildren, Jonah Michael Wooley, Jessie Alan Wooley and Joshua Eugene Bonnette. Honoring Delores as pallbearers will be Jonah Michael Wooley, Jessie Alan Wooley, Joshua Eugene Bonnette, Jose Avila, Zachary Wall and Steven Myers. The family would like to express special thanks to Gail Holder for her friendship and companionship over the years and especially during Mom's last year.
