Dolores Edwards

A memorial service for Dolores Edwards, 71, will be held on Monday, January 24, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. at Indian Hills Baptist Church, 71312 Old Mooringsport Rd., Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Pastor Don Tinsley. Dolores was born on May 9, 1950 in Iota, Louisiana to James and Rena Miller and passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2022 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Dolores met the love of her life, Jesse Edwards, and they were married on November 23, 1968. In 2011, after over 30 years as a LPN nurse, she retired from Christus Schumpert Hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was truly a caregiver in every aspect of her life. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. She and Jesse traveled many places together while camping. You could find them fishing and birdwatching, especially the hummingbirds. She was a member of Indian Hills Baptist Church and the SOC Club of Oil City where she truly enjoyed the fellowship and the friendship. She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Wanda Miller and Doris Montelaro and brother, Robert "Bobby" Miller. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 53 years, Jesse Edwards; son, Chris Edwards and wife, Marcy; sister, Doreene Miller; brother, Roderick Miller and five grandchildren, Mackenzie Edwards, Hayley Stunkard, Emily Stunkard, Tyler Stunkard and Hannah Stunkard.
