Don Gillespie

Funeral services for Mr. Don Gillespie will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at 2:00 PM at New Freedom Fellowship Church with Brother Dean Hillman officiating; interment will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held for him at Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath Many Chapel on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 from 5:00 PM-9:00PM and will continue on Wednesday morning until service time. He was born December 7, 1947 in Ironton, OH to Ira Gillespie and Edna Ruth (Cox) Gillespie and entered into rest on August 9, 2020 at his residence. He served honorably in the United States Army. Don enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved to travel and on his many adventures he liked hunting and fishing especially in the northern states and also in Canada. Preceding Don in death were his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Ira Gillespie. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Carrie (Knight) Gillespie of Many, LA; his son, Donnie Gillespie & fiancé, Marissa of Chippewa Lake, OH, his son, Cody Rivers & wife, Jessica of Zwolle, LA; his daughter, Amy Manis & husband, Bryan of Sagamore Hills, OH, his daughter, Jessica Meshell & husband, Jonathan of Zwolle, LA; his sister, Joann Greer & fiancé, Roy of Many, LA; his brother, Robert "Bob" Gillespie & wife, Janell of Seville, OH; and 9 grandchildren. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, and special friends. Honoring Don as pallbearers will be Monk Sepulvado, Randy Thompson, Colby Rivers, Brayden Rivers, Lawson Rivers, and Johnny Faircloth.
