A graveside service for Doris Bagwell Lewis, 82, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2019 at Forest Park West Cemetery with Rev. Roger Patterson and Rev. Jerry Kennedy officiating.
Doris, mother of Tim, Tina, Toni, Ted, and Teresa, was born October 7, 1936 and went to be with the Lord on July 18, 2019. Doris spent a lifetime in the automotive paint industry with Sherwin-Williams Paint Company, where she was the first woman to win Salesman of the Year, and Paul Lashley Paint Supply. After raising five kids, she went back to school and earned her associate's degree in business. She enjoyed travelling, including her trip to Australia and six weeks in Europe. She most recently had taken up bird watching and she loved to drive except for what she called "Youree Damn Drive."
She was well-trained and well-versed in the Word of God and known for prayer. Her entire family always went to her for prayer and wisdom. Her family was her prized possession, along with her pets, Taco and Tootsie.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Maye Bagwell. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Tim Lewis and wife Linda, and Ted Lewis; daughters, Tina Kennedy and husband Jerry, Toni Townsend and husband Shelby, and Teresa Austin; grandchildren, Scott Townsend and wife Jaime, Steven Kennedy and wife Patricia, Stephanie Phelan and husband John, Matthew Rinaudo and wife Britnee, Gentry Olden and husband Casey, and Liz Lewis; great-grandchildren, Skye Kennedy, Emerald Kennedy, Jas Kennedy, Owen Phelan, Eleanor Phelan, Hallee Brooke Rinaudo, River Vincent Rinaudo, Charlee Kate Rinaudo, Stella Gray Rinaudo, and Judd David Olden; and sister, Carolyn Tyler and husband Warren.
Honoring Doris as pallbearers will be Scott Townsend, Steven Kennedy, Matthew Rinaudo, Shelby Townsend, Casey Olden, and Liz Lewis.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tim, Tina, Toni, Ted, and Teresa; the Shriner's Hospital; or a charity of your choice.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Charles Byrd and Dr. Wen Lui.
