Doris Miles of Vivian, LA left this world to be with our Heavenly Father on Sunday, August 2, 2020, at the age of 88 years old. A home going celebration will be held at Vivian Church of the Nazarene, 1517 North Pine Street, Vivian, LA on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at the Vivian Cemetery under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Vivian. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at the Vivian Church of the Nazarene.
Doris was born to Clovis and Margaret Harris in Morris, OK on January 19, 1932. She grew up in Beaumont, TX and graduated from South Park High School in 1950. Doris married Wayne Logan in 1957. Several years after Wayne\'s death, she met and married Morris Miles. Doris had a love for blue eyes as both her husbands had beautiful blue eyes.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Vivian Church of the Nazarene. Doris was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed her coffee and didn\'t mind telling you she had been drinking coffee since she was 13 years old. Doris can now have all the coffee and chocolate she could ever dream of. She was also a White Diamonds kind of girl. Doris also enjoyed sewing and was an excellent cook.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Clovis Harris, Margaret Harris and Step mother Nadine Harris, her first husband Wayne Logan, second husband Morris Miles, son Michael Harris, grandson Phillip Downs, brothers Willard Harris, Weldon (Dub) Harris and Jerry Harris.
Doris is survived by daughters, Donna Guthrie and husband Mike of Vivian, LA, Sharon Thomas of Elsmere, KY, son Jeff Miles and wife Rachel of Effie, LA. Grandchildren, Brenda Smith-Eatman and husband Rowdy of Lumberton, TX, Courtney Boyd and husband James of Princeton, LA, Daniel Rose and wife Tara of Carthage, TX, Josh Downs and wife Lauren of Benton, LA, David Rose and wife Amanda of Ida, LA, Kenna Thompson and husband Perry of Stonewall, LA, Lee Miles and wife Paige of Pineville, LA, Matthew Miles and wife Madelyn of Fort Riley, KS. Also, left to cherish her memories are her great grandchildren, Sarah Smith, Sean Smith, Brayden Lampkin, Ashlyn Boyd, JD Boyd, Elijah Rose, Victoria Rose, Lesleigh Downs, Grayson Downs, Libby Mooty, Boone Rose, Daley Thompson, Trace Thompson, Carter McEntyre, Paxton Miles and Andi Lou Miles, Sister Venna Gray of Woodville, AL, Brother, Clovis Harris, Jr. of Orange, TX and numerous Nieces and Nephews.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Rose, David Rose, Perry Thompson, Josh Downs, James Boyd, Brayden Lampkin, Lee Miles and Matthew Miles.
