A Mass of Christian Burial for Dorothy Lee Adams Aillet, from Shreveport, LA, will be held at 11:30 am Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Shreveport, LA. Interment will follow in Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent Ave. Visitation will be Tuesday April 14, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Marshall Street. Dorothy was born on October 21, 1928 to James Elwood Adams and Jeroline Adams Tinsley in Norphlet Arkansas. She passed away peacefully on April 11, 2015. Dorothy attended Ruston High School and Louisiana Tech University. She was a loving wife and mother, and served for 30 years as secretary with the firm Aillet, Fenner, Jolly and McClelland. Her legacy lives on in those left to cherish her memory. Lovingly survived by her husband of 67 years, Robert Aillet, and her eight children and their families; Melanie Hand and husband Al, Robert Aillet, Jr and wife Jeanne, Richard Aillet and wife Terri, Cynthia Pettiette and husband David, Jerelyn Vandewater and husband Mike, Minette Gilbert and husband Jim, Joseph Aillet and wife Julie, Denise Landry and husband Brian. Her grandchildren; Brandon Aillet, Kristen Aillet, Jordan Aillet, Robert Hand, Mark Hand, Minette Hand, Amy Ostendorff, Elizabeth Morales, Lauren Pettiette, David Pettiette, Juliana Pettiette, Alan Vandewater, Ashley Huckaby Respondek, Mary Margaret Edmonson, Meredith Riggs, Rebecca Mott, Rachel Aillet, Olivia Landry, Brian Landry, Adam Landry. Along with 14 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her brother Jerry Foster Adams and wife Pat. Preceded in death by infant son Mark, grandson Albert Moore 'Trey' Hand and her brother James Elwood Adams, Jr. Honoring Dorothy as pallbearers will be her three sons and brother along with long time friends Carrell Dowies and Leo Sanford. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the following charities; VOA, 360 Jordan St. Shreveport, LA 71101, Wounded Warriors Project, www.woundedwarriorproject.org, St Judes Children Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105-3678, or charity of the donor's choice.
