Dorothy Jean Reed

Funeral services for Dorothy Jean Reed will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at Believers Worship Center, 6068 Hwy 3, Benton, LA. Officiating will be Pastor Danny Moffett. Interment will follow at Rose-Neath Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church Tuesday from 9 a.m. until service time.   Dorothy was born September 29, 1931 in Pennsylvania and passed away in Bossier City, LA on May 23, 2019. She was a member of Believers Worship Center and a homemaker.   Jean was very caring and giving. She was always thinking of and putting others before herself. She never met a stranger and many people were drawn to her and couldn't help wanting to get to know her. She was a devoted wife and nurturing mother. She did everything she could for her children. We were all blessed to have her in our lives and the Lord is now blessed to have our very special angel.   She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Reed; parents; son, Frank and four siblings.   Dorothy is survived her son, Robert Alan Reed and wife, Karen of Benton, LA; daughters, Roberta Hunnicutt of Bossier City, LA, Kathryn Guilbeau and husband, Brent of Carencro, LA, Vickie Provost, Tammy Harper and Pamela Dean and husband, Mike, all of Bossier City, LA; brothers, William Arnold and wife, Hazel of Quitman, LA, James Arnold and wife, Lou of St. Louis, MO; 16 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.   Honoring Dorothy as pallbearers will be her grandsons. Honorary pallbearer will be, Glenn Barnes.
