Dorothy Overlease

Graveside services for Dorothy Tanner Hartsell Overlease, 90, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Forest Park East Cemetery with Rev. Greg Davis officiating. Visitation will be held at Rose-Neath Southside from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Dorothy was a native of Haynesville, LA and a resident of Shreveport since 1955. She attended LA Tech and LSUS. She retired from LSUS in 1984. Dorothy was preceded in death by husbands, Orval G. Hartsell and Claude Overlease, Jr.; parents, Elsie Murphy and Henry Bruton Tanner; stepdaughter, Patti Carrol; and the beloved aunt and uncle who raised her, Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Sherman. Left to cherish her memory are her son, David W. Hartsell and wife Pamela; stepson, Steve Overlease and wife Rebecca; and grandchildren, Autumn and Ashley Hartsell and Matthew Overlease. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
