Our precious Mother passed away Sunday as she slept and woke up in Glory with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We will miss her on earth. She was a true Christian lady whose life was a testimony and example for many. There were countless lives influenced by her grace and kindness.
Edna Clark Bairnsfather was born on September 10, 1926 and changed her address on August 18, 2019. Edna graduated Ouachita Parish High School in Monroe, LA in 1943 and from Bish Mathis Institute School of Business in 1944. She worked as a legal secretary for Herold and Geneaux Attorneys where she retired at 85 years old. She was a member of Brookwood Baptist Church.
Edna was preceded in death by her father, Wesley James Clark; mother, Lois Clark; sister, Marie Bullock; and husband, Bruce A Bairnsfather.
She is survived by her sons, Clark Bairnsfather and wife Pamela, Clay Bairnsfather and wife Rachael; daughter, Fran McGouey and husband Brian of Jacksonville, FL; six grandchildren, Brian Keith McGouey, Scott McGouey, Sean McGouey all of Jacksonville, FL, Shane Bairnsfather, Blake Bissell, and Corey Bissell; three great-grandchildren, Summer, Christian, and Kaleb McGouey; one great-great-grandchild, Donovan McGouey; and numerous nieces and nephews who she dearly loved.
The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude and thanks to her caregiver of many years, her grandson Shane Bairnsfather. He made it possible for her to be cared for her final days on earth at home. He loved her dearly and gave his all for her comfort and care.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Rose-Neath Southside with Rev. John Harp officiating. Burial will follow at 4:00 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery in Calhoun, LA. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at the funeral home.
