Ellen Robinson

Graveside services for Ellen Robinson, 101, will be held Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Park Cemetery, 3700 St. Vincent Avenue, Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held Tuesday, August 18, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport. Officiating the service will be Doctor Chuck McInturf. Ellen was born on July 8, 1919 to Rufus Arch Friday and Elvie Hughes Friday in Natchitoches, Louisiana and passed away Friday, August 14, 2020 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Ellen graduated from nursing school from Shreveport Charity Hospital as a registered nurse in 1941. She was a private duty nurse and she was said to work at every hospital in Shreveport at some point, she even served as a nurse the first day Overton Brooks Veterans Hospital opened. She was the proud mother of two daughters, Janette and Delores and her four granddaughters, Vera Caldwell, Lisa McBryde, Charlotte Van Norman and Laura Burnside. Honoring Ellen as pallbearers will be Bill Friday, Bill Burnside, Tony Duffey, Shawn Newell, Joseph Dana and Hollis Caldwell. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Mark Burdue and Donald Dunson. The family would like to express special thanks to McKee Williams and Kelly Muslow of Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Rose-Neath Flower Shop and Lee Boone of Forest Park East Cemetery.
