Married for 57 years, the couple dedicated their working lives to the church. Eloise was a lifetime member of P.E.O and for many years taught Sunday School classes in the various churches to which her husband was appointed. She was known in the family for her quick wit, a quality she ascribes to all the Holts, her creative talents (decorating and china painting), her optimistic outlook on life, and her unwavering faith. Once, when asked what she thought was her best quality, she replied, \"I encouraged others.\" A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Broadmoor United Methodist Church, the Reverends Greg Davis, Ray Branton, and William Peeples officiating. The family will receive extended loving family and friends at 1:00 PM prior to the service in the reception hall. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Orval Davidson, Gerald Holiday, Milton Pearce, Neal Ross, Ben Stem, and Curtis Turner. The family wishes to thank Dr. Ann Landry and her staff as well as Hospice of Shreveport/Bossier for all the excellent care Eloise received during her illness.
