Elsie Garner Osborne

Elsie Garner Osborne was born in Clayton, Texas to Albert and Hazel Garner on September 1, 1929, and went to Heaven Thursday, February 25, 2021. Services will be held Sunday, February 28 at 2:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath South, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Visitation will be before the service at 1:00 p.m. Graveside will be at Centuries Memorial Park, 8801 Mansfield Rd., Shreveport. The service will be officiated by Dr. B.J. \"Rocky\" Maddox. Elsie was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Amber Nicole Osborne; and her husband of 62 years, Roy S. Osborne, Sr. She is survived by her brothers, David Garner, Paul Garner and wife, Susan; sister, Martha Holler; sons, Roy Steve Osborne, Jr. and wife, Yvonne, Scott Osborne and wife Kay; grandchildren, April Osborne Salley and husband Russ, Roy Steven Osborne, III and wife, Nicole, Alex Osborne and wife, Ashley, Jim Osborne and wife, Ashley; great-grandchildren, Gus, Ava, Ivy, and Hub Salley, Taylor, Justin Osborne, Maddie, Clayton Watson and JoJo; nephews, Eric Garner, Cole Garner; nieces, Gail Victoria, Becky Divine, Kim Kelley and Patricia Garner. Elsie (Nana) worked for many years at Bell Systems in Longview, Texas and Shreveport, Louisiana. She and Roy started Broadmoor Garage in Shreveport in 1955, which remains open today. Over the years, Elsie and Roy enjoyed square dancing, bowling, camping, skiing, and fishing on Toledo Bend. Nana cooked many meals for her family and her recipes are still enjoyed by them today. Favorites include her Thanksgiving dressing, blackberry cobbler, and lemon pie. Everyone was welcome at her house. She was a member of St. Luke Methodist Church. Honoring Elsie as pallbearers will be Russ Salley, Gus Salley, Steven Osborne, Jim Osborne, Alex Osborne and Eric Garner. The family suggests memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Shriners Children's Hospital.
