Funeral services for Ernest Kennedy Boykin, 70, will be held on Friday, February 26, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 7970 Mike Clark Road in Keithville, Louisiana. A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Southside. Officiating the service will be Brother Bob Moore.
Ernest was born on March 3, 1950 to Bobby Glynn Boykin and Evelyn Janice McGraw in DeWitt, Arkansas and passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2021 in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Ernest was a resident of Bossier and worked as a Deputy Sheriff in Shelby County, Texas for many years. After retirement, he worked in construction.
Ernest is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Barry Boykin; grandmother, Minnie Kennedy McGraw; and great-grandson, Aiyden James Burns. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 50 years, Patricia Boykin; son, Bruce Boykin and wife, Deana; daughter, Shannon Grigsby and fiancé, Carl Hicks; granddaughters, Kinnidie Autenreath, Alanea Autenreath and fiancé, Kalin Perkins, Kiley Boykin and Miranda Hicks; great-grandchildren, Kelly Menendez, IV, Kalvary Perkins, Kayden Patrick; numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends.
Honoring Ernest as pallbearers will be Bruce Boykin, Carl Hicks, Kalin Perkins, Gregory Deyo, Jeremy Pomplun and Monroe Patrick. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Boykin, Kalvary Perkins and Kelly Menendez, IV.
