I last saw Mrs. Collins over 50 years ago and I always wanted to look her up and tell her how much she meant to me. I was just another student at Christ The King in the 60\'s, having her for a math teacher in the 4th, 5th and 6th grades. She set me on a different life trajectory that had a ripple effect that changed many lives for the better for years to come. You see, I thought I was OK at math, but had no confidence that I could perform at a high level. Through the toughest of tough love, she showed me I could do it by making me do it. I\'ve told the story over a zillion times over the years that she routinely called me to come up in front of the class to work a word problem. The scariest moment in my little life became the most rewarding as she proved to me that I could do it. I went on to earn a B.S. In Math from LSUS in 1976. I\'ve had a incredibly rewarding career that requires analytical and logical thinking skills that I can only attribute to my DNA and the nurturing I received at the hands of Mrs. Collins. A most revered lady whom I\'ve loved and admired from afar for half a century. So sad for her family left behind and my deepest sympathy go out to all of you. Thank you Mrs. Collins for pulling my hair, making me sit up straight and demanding that I deliver my best everyday. I miss you. Steve Boose

Dear Collins Family, So very sorry to hear about Mrs. Collins. She taught my entire family (2 sisters and 1 brother) while attending Christ the King. I will never forget her patience and dedication; and it has been MANY years since I was in elementary school. Rest in peace Mrs. Collins. With Sympathy, Susie McCoy

Sonny and Sissy - Aunt Eva was a special person. I loved her whistle at family reunions. So sorry to hear of her death. I'll be thinking of you two Saturday. Love, Jeff and Marilyn Ingram
