A mass of Christian burial for Evelyn Procell, 96, will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at St. Mary of the Pines at 1050 Bert Kouns in Shreveport, LA . Officiating will be Monsignor Carson LaCaze with Father Francis Kamau, Father Thomas John and Father John Paul assisting. Visitation with the family will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday in the church prior to the services. Evelyn Procell was born on July 9, 1921 to Elizabeth Garcie and Louis Ebarb in Noble, LA and passed away on July 1, 2018. She retired as a nurse in 1987 from Schumpert Hospital. Evelyn was a devote member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was an Eucharistic Minister for shut-ins at Holy Rosary Catholic Church for many years. She attended daily mass after she retired. Evelyn also received the Knights of Columbus Family of the year award which she was very proud of. Her hobbies were sewing, cooking and having a vegetable and flower garden every year. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Herman Christian Procell; her parents; sons, Pat Procell and Donald Procell; 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Left to cherish Evelyn's beautiful memories are her 6 daughters, Margie Storey (Ralph) of Garland, TX, Vivian Faler (Jim) of Mansfield, LA, Sandra Alexander (Ronnie) of Keithville, LA, Sharon Cox (Mike) of Bossier City, LA, Charlotte Rose (Mike) of Shreveport, LA and Paula Phillips (Mike) of Monroe, LA; son, Mike Procell (Terri) of Bossier City, LA; 3 sisters, Julia Procell of Converse, LA, Pauline Ebarb of Nobel, LA and Mary Lee of Houston, TX; brother, Joseph Ebarb of Brooklyn, NY. Also surviving her are 25 grandchildren and 54 great-grandchildren. Honoring Evelyn as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Lynn Storey, Ryan Faler, Ray McKinney, Chris Procell, Mike Rose and Johnny Phillips. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sisters of Our Lady of Sorrows at 9894 Norris Ferry Rd. Shreveport, LA 71106 and Catholic Charities at 331 E. 71st St. in Shreveport, LA. The family would like to give a special thanks to the Heritage Manor Stratmore, Amie Hospice, Dr. Seaborn Woods and Dr. Robert Hernandez.
