Shreveport, LA - Funeral services for Fanne Simmons, 89, will be held 12 noon Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Chester Simmons, Jr. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 16, 2015 at the funeral home. Burial will be private in Forest Park West Cemetery. Fanne was born on July 26, 1925 in Shreveport, LA and passed away January 14, 2015. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and a resident of Shreveport, LA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Simmons, Sr.; brothers and sisters, Charlie Gilbert, Louis Gilbert, Hazel Flores, Dorothy Gilbert, Gladys Gilbert, and Greer Langley. Left to cherish her memory are sons, Chester Simmons, Jr. and Larry K. Simmons; grandchildren, Robert B. Simmons, Roy Simmons, Darla Marie Simmons Sanchez, and Larry Kent Simmons; brothers, Jack Gilbert and Terrell Gilbert.
