George Pestell

Graveside services were held for George A. Pestell, Jr., age 71, at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, October 14, 2014, at McKenzie Cemetery in Claiborne Parish Louisiana. Mr. Pestell was born December 23, 1942, in Louisville, KY to Lt. Colonel George A. Pestell, Sr. and Shirley Kinder Pestell. He entered into rest on Friday, October 10, 2014, in Ruston, LA. Mr. Pestell proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was a retired Assistant Chief of Police of Arcadia, and was a member of the Louisiana association of Chiefs of Police. He is preceded in death by his parents. George is survived by his wife Dana D. (Tookie) Pestell of Arcadia, step-sons Stewart Richardson and wife Carol of Memphis, TN and Mark Richardson and wife Beth of Lake Worth, FL, by step-daughter Debbie Otwell and husband Ricky of Arcadia and by 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Stewart Richardson, Mark Richardson, Ricky Otwell, Darrell Mills, Gary Hill and Victor Rogers.
