Shreveport, LA-Funeral services for Glenda Garrard Hawthorne will be held Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. Visitation will be Friday, September 1, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Officiating at the service will be Rev. McKee Williams, with "Special Words" By Charles Odom.
Glenda was a former "Charter" member of Ellerbe Road United Methodist Church.
Glenda left her earthly life on August 29, 2017 at the age of 76 years. She was born on September 27, 1940 in Shreveport, LA.
Preceding her in death were her father and mother, John Burton Garrard and Marie Odom Garrard. Her beloved nephew Christopher Lee Beaird and the father of her two sons, Gerald Dean Hawthorne.
She is survived by her two sons, Gerald Wayne Hawthorne and friend Penny and Royce Dean Hawthorne. Two sisters, Shela Tucker and husband John and Sherry Beaird and husband Lee; nephew, Caleb Tucker; grandchildren, Amanda Bartlett and Michael Brandon Wayne Hawthorne and five great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Caleb Tucker, William Gwyn, Kenny Campbell, Mike Hattaway, Bubba Hattaway and Bubba Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are John Tucker and Lee Beaird.
Glenda was loved by so many and will be missed more than words can express, but we will all meet again "On Heavens Shore".
