Shreveport, LA - Gloria Swanson age 88, passed away on July 13, 2020 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Mrs. Swanson was born to W.R. and Laura Wolf on September 1, 1931 in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was a resident of Shreveport and work for C.P.S.B. for 30 years. She was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church and loved her Sunday School Class and traveling buddies. Mrs. Swanson was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Gordon Swanson; parents; and four siblings. She is survived by her son, Gary Swanson and wife, Ginger; daughter, Beverly Merritt; grandchildren, Angel Peterson, Ty Foster, Cassie Merritt, Eric Swanson and Rebecca Bower; great-grandchildren, Tyler Williams, Drake Foster, Stone Peterson, Mak Foster, Sydney Peterson, Scarlett Peterson, Chloe Veuleman, Brody Bower, Barron Bower, Levi Swanson and Paisley Swanson; two great-great grandchildren and another two on the way. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 20, 2020 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, LA. Funeral services will be follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel. Brother Gary Swanson will be officiating the service. Graveside services will follow at Northwest Louisiana Veteran's Cemetery, 7970 Mike Clark Road, Keithville, LA. The family would like to give a special thanks to Live Oak for the love and care you gave mom and to the Sunset Chapter of the Eastern Star.
