SHREVEPORT, LA – Harry Lee Gibson, 92, died peacefully Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Grace House in Shreveport, following a stroke.  Harry’s remains will be cremated and there will no services.

Harry was born October 8, 1922 in Union County, Ohio.  He entered the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1940.  During WWII he was transferred to the infantry, assigned to drive a tank, and fought at the Battle of the Bulge as a Sergeant in 1944.  He was awarded the American Defense Service Medal, American Theater Campaign Medal, EAME Campaign Medal with two Bronze Stars, and the WWII Victory Medal. He worked as a Radio Operator for Braniff International Airways following the war, retiring after 35 years.

Harry was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Jewell Lee Gibson; his parents, Edward and Augusta Gibson; and by five brothers, Charles, Frank, George, Gerald, and William Gibson.  His survivors include his children, Joy Lee Migliore and Jeannie Geer; grandchildren, Michael Migliore, Patrick Migliore, Brandy Migliore, Jenee Geer, and Eben Geer, their spouses and three great-grandchildren; his three brothers, Edward, Paul and John Gibson; one sister, Anne George.

The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers of Grace House in Shreveport, LA for their kind care and support during their loved one’s last days.
