Hattie Nelwyn 'Nel' Adams

Lula Community, LA - Funeral services honoring the life of Hattie Nelwyn "Nel" Adams, 84, will be 2:00 PM, November 6, 2014, at Beulah Baptist Church in the Lula Community, with Reverend David Permenter officiating. Burial will follow at Beulah Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 from 5:00 until 9:00 PM.

Nel was born in the Lula Community to Claude and Mary Smith Hamilton and went to be with the Lord in Mansfield, LA. She was member of Beulah Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Nel loved spending time with her family. Some of the highlights of her life were playing the piano and working in her rose garden. Riding four wheelers with her family brought her happiness.

Preceding Nel in death were her husband Ray Adams; parents Claude and Mary Smith Hamilton; sisters Claudine Whitlock and Lois Sayers; and daughter-in-law Darlene Adams.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons James Ray Adams and wife Deborah and William "Buba" Claude Adams and Annette; grandchildren Amanda Nash and husband James, James Adams, Jr. and wife Danielle, William Adams, Jr. and wife Emily, Kayla Cheremie and husband Dalen, Brenton King and wife Tamatha, Stacy Araune, and Sarah Wood; great grandchildren Kara Elizabeth Hooper, Allison Leigh Hooper, Justin Roy Nash, Samuel Rayburn Adams, Kaden King, Bryce Cheremie, Cullen Songy, and Jacob Tripp Araune; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Those honoring the life of Nel as pallbearers will be James Grice, Alvin Lum, Terry Martin, Gary Whitlock, Roger Whitlock, Mike Adams, Robert Adams, Gale Golden, and William Adams, Jr.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Louisiana Home Care, DeSoto Rehab and Retirement, DeSoto Regional Health System, Dr. Denis Kamberov, Dr. Wen Liu and all who volunteered to help care for Nel.
